We met at Tufts/SMFA. Scott was at a studio sink cleaning sculpture parts. Lynn was on her way to class. Three hours later, after class, she came back. He was still at the sink, still cleaning parts. She asked what he was doing. And that was that.
Now we live in Longwood, Florida. Lynn designs for the Disney Experience app; Scott teaches branding at Valencia College. We both also work on an EdTech startup. Between those, we make things — ceramics, stationery, apparel, prints, books, whatever we feel like trying next.
The shop is part of it. The field notes from the studio are part of it. Whatever we make and want to share — ceramics, prints, writing, music we’re listening to — ends up here.
Ceramics is the most visible part of the practice — Lynn hand-building, five named collections, glazes distinct enough to recognize at a distance. The practice is wider. Laser-cut stationery, print-on-demand apparel with real design references behind it, children’s books, puzzles, journals, screen-printing, the occasional thing we make for ourselves and then realize we want to share. Handwoven textiles next, paintings when Scott has a weekend, things we haven’t decided on yet.
If you see something new in the shop, it’s not drift. It’s the practice extending. We’ve been at this longer than the shop has existed.
