A handbuilt pasta colander in the Italian shallow style — 9 inches across, 2 inches deep, with drainage holes spaced across the base and integral handles pulled from the rim. The form is closer to the scolapasta tradition than to a deep American colander: low and wide rather than tall, sized to drain a pound of pasta without tossing it from a height.
Lynn pours the ochre yellow glaze across the interior and the exterior; the drainage pattern shows up as a regular grid of dark holes against the warm field. The handles read as part of the rim rather than as added parts, which is the Italian move — the piece is one continuous form.
Dishwasher safe. Oven safe (though most pasta colanders never see an oven; the spec is there because the clay and glaze can take it). Handbuilt by Lynn.
